Writing Guide Team Scholarship
About the Scholarship
The Writing Guide Team Scholarship rewards students for demonstrating what they know about various writing guides such as APA and MLA. The contest encourages students to visit several websites to learn more about these topics before taking the scholarship quizzes. The top scoring team of students will be awarded the scholarships.
Eligibility
Open to all high school students in the U.S.

1st Place Team – $1,250 ($250 for each team member)

Quiz 1: 3/10/10 – 3/24/10
Quiz 2: 3/17/10 – 3/24/10Top school team from each county advances to State Championship
State Championship
3/26/10 – 3/31/10Top school team from each state advances to National Championship
National Championship
4/2/10 – 4/7/10
Quiz Details
Participants register with the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation and compete for scholarships by taking a series of online multiple-choice quizzes at the CKSF website, www.cksf.org. The Writing Guide Team Scholarship Challenge Round consists of two quizzes that cover various style and formatting guidelines found on the following websites: For Websites and sample questions to help prepare for Quiz 1 Click Here. For Websites and sample questions to help prepapre for Quiz 2 Click Here.
Based on the results from the Writing Guide Team Scholarship Challenge Round , the top scoring school team from each county advances to the State Championship. (A school’s team score is the cumulative total of the top 20 student scores). The top five scoring students from each school on the State Championship quiz are then advanced to the National Championship. Each student on the team that wins the National Championship receives a scholarship to the college or university of their choice.
